CTMO director give an important talk

On the afternoon of May 30, 2005, CTMO (China Trademark Office) held a conference with subject of “Free On-line Trademark Search System tentatively open to 18 Trademark Agencies” at Room 815, CTMO building. Representatives from Unitalen, Focus-IP, China-Sinda, CTPA and other 14 trademark agenices were invited.

Mr. AN Qinghu, the general director of CTMO, made an important speech, promising the on-line trademark search system will be open to the public at the end of 2005, no later than early 2006. He also stated that CTMO is considering to launch the on-line trademark search system to the public with no charge. The total number of new trademark applications in China has been the largest one worldwide, which appears twice over the relevant number in United states--the second largest country in the area, thus free service of trademark search system would better accord with China’s current situation.

Mr. SHANG Jiaquan of Focus-IP participated the said conference with CTMO’s invitation.
